Day 59 of 90: New PR jumping, BJJ, strong eatin' and lots more

Brazil 2010 MBG Seminar!!!
Whew today was ALOT of training! Feeling good to be training more each day.
Did a bit of work this am but then started training bjj, then jump trained, jumped in the lake
then ate, then chilled, then another hour of bjj, then even did some capoeira today:) haha
Good day:) but man it was alot but i feel good and tired now so it's cool!
MBG 1 restoration - did some standing Eischens Yoga poses, then after training this morning i went and jumped into the lake! Two old fisherman were near me and looked at me like i was crazy. said i'm just doing some restoration after training, they looked even more confused and said...well i recover by sitting in my boat all day:) hahaha it was funny as hell i thought:) either way they smiled and just floated away:) So i just hung out for about 20 minutes until i was about to get hypothermic:) it was about 60 degrees the fisherman said and after awhile it got a bit cold, so i then just laid in the sun for another 10 and i was good to go, felt great!
MBG 2 training - did about 90 minutes of brazilian jiu-jitsu this morning, rolled with one of my old purple belts a bit and that was cool:). Then did my jump training workout:
  1. Vertical jumps to the rim: R8 (green) 2/1/0 x 6 jumps - 9'6" / 10' / 10'5" highest mark on my way back!!
  2. One leg jumps to rim: tried but my left knee hurt a bit so i chilled on it and went to broad jumps
  3. Broad jumps: R8 (green) 2/1/0 - 6 jumps to 45' / 5 jumps to 42' / 5 jumps to 45'4" highest mark on my way back again!! TWO HIGH MARKS on my way back to dunking again!! Good news!
After jumping in the lake, eating and then resting i went and read outside sitting in the sun for another hour...actually fell asleep which felt great!!:) Then back to the MBG to train with my boy Thales Blaso for another hour....nice training!!! Then went and did another hour of training doing capoeira, not ever really done much of it but i've always liked it alot and want to get into it a bit more...it's fun...but i was wasted:) hahaha.
MBG 3 eating plant based -
grapes, strawberries, blueberries, mangos, dates, bananas, SOLife, goji, cacao, bee pollen, almonds
kale, beets, corn, sunflower seeds, various beans, carrots, walnuts
2 bananas, figs (great great snack before late afternoon bjj)
dahl soup, bell peppers, onions, black beans, tofu and some red rice

definitely feeling stronger each day, today was cool to train 4 times!!:) nothing crazy hard but all fun!!!
peace my friends,

Day 58 of 90: PW52 crawl NEW PR! wicked workout, super strong eatin!

video
Just thought this hummingbird was cool as hell, don't get to see this much,
actually ever in my life...it was simple, beautiful:)
Hey y'all good day today! Worked alot this am on the MBG, got some good stuff done, learned alot too. Today we saw some dope designs for the window graphics for MBG chicago and they are off the charts!! Man it is getting exciting as heck!! Before it opens though we'll be in NYC and Philly doing 5 seminars over 10 days....YOU ALL GOT TO SPREAD THE WORD MY FRIENDS!!! Lets get these seminars full and spread the word okay my brothers and sisters!! Remember what i said yesterday...WE STAND!
We do what is the best for people and planet, not was is the fad or what is the short term money maker! We are the strong who do the honorable thing despite others saying it is not the way...because it's not the popular thing....YET!!!:)
MY QUESTION TO YOU...HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU TELL ABOUT THESE SEMINARS? HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU/ME/WE CHANGE THEIR LIVES FOREVER?
I'LL TELL YOU THIS IF ANYONE CAN GET 10+ PEOPLE TO A SEMINAR I'LL GIVE YOU THE NEW JUNGLE GYM XT!!! HOW ABOUT THEM APPLES:)
Remember "The hinge that squeaks gets the grease" So squeak my friends, squeak! haha i'm super excited about seeing as many of you as possible in NYC, NY and Philly...and all your friends too!
MBG 1 restoration - Eischens Yoga Beginner sequence...did something different today after watching my cats to down dog, up dog and cat stretch pose for about 2 seconds each...they hit it and quit it. So i did the same, short, as extended and expanded as possible on each pose and man it felt solid!! Short, Sweet and felt great afterwards! Then did 5 cycles of hot/cold shower after workout:) always good! Slept 8 hours last night and got a nice 10 minute nap after training on my porch with my cat:) haha
MBG 2 training - did some new things today and man I LOVED IT, FELT AWESOME!!
  • Power Wheel + 52lb vest crawl: NEW PR *66 yards, 34 yards = 100 yards in two sets! at 30 yards wasnt feeling it but just kept going and then realized dang still gonna get it:) hey hey hey!!:)
rested for awhile as it zapped me...was gonna keep going but really felt tired and decided to rest for a few hours til later in the afternoon and man did it help. Really made me happy to listen to my body on this one...trained at about 12:30 and hadnt eaten since 8 so i was a bit hungry and for sure after the PW crawl hit a wall and my mind was saying finish the workout....my gut said be smart, go home, refuel, recover a bit and come back strong this afternoon. It worked perfect!!! See what you can learn if you listen to your gut:) hahaha only 47 years:) haha
Then did a Prison 10-2 of the following:
  1. Handstand hold lowering to planche hold 1" above floor for few seconds: 10/8/6/4/2
  2. Cliffhanger crawls: 6,4 / 5,3 / 4,2 / 4 / 2
honestly loved this workout 4 stars for sure, the HS holds lowering to planche holds was awesome!!! Great practice for me as i want to go down to my chest and then back up...plus it helps me big time for my handstand walking balance too:) Then of course the cliff crawls are always my favorites...just love this, after these two my arms were so pumped it was crazy:) haha

MBG 3 plant based eatin!!
  1. grapes, strawberries, blueberries, mangos, banana, almonds, sunflower seeds, SOlife, goji, cacao

Day 57 of 90: Jumping crazy!! Obama in the house! Eatin like champion!

My boy Boobie chillin:)
Love the stories my friends! Zach a riah reminded me of a time when I was once asking friends what was your worst/most challenging moment/time in your life as well as what was your greatest? after they answered they asked me...i said my worst was my best! Because it was in those moments my true character showed, it was at those times where i stood, when standing was difficult! No one was around, was by myself and stood strong! Went thru the fire and came out a better, stronger, wiser person. I say this because yesterday i asked you all to tell of that time or moments of challenge in your life....that was what made you stronger today! that is what your fire was, what is the gift you pass on to others...this is our gift we pass on to all people....strength, courage to do the right thing, despite strong opposition, we stand!
My friends...WE ARE STANDING! It is up to us to send a message out to as many people as possible that is positive, that people can eat in a manner to help people and planet, that people can train in a manner that is fun, intuitive and builds crazy strong bodies and minds, and that we can heal pains in the body in minutes a day instead of depending on expensive doctors or getting on drugs.
STAND MY FRIENDS, BE HEARD, BE STRONG! cause a change is a comin!!:)

MBG 1 restoration - Eischens Yoga beginner sequence right after workout, then a 5 x cycle of a hot/cold shower...helped alot!
MBG 2 training - crazy jumping workout!! Besides biking all over madison today:)
2 x 10 broad jumps + 120lb Power Jumper as far as possible across grass field
2 x 10 parkour jumps onto a 54" pole...this got the heart rate up:) haha
2 x 20 x 24" box jumps as fast as possible (knee feeling better and doing this is a big positive!)
4 x 12 jumps + 120lb Power Jumper up 3 steps at a time (2 sets of 6 jumps up 4 steps first) GREAT!!
2 x 25's Jungle Gym XT foot up jump lunge...this kicked my ass and for sure want to do this again!
3 x 20 Power Wheel leg curls
without question the most jumps i've done in a while and my knee felt good and strong!! over 150!!

grapes, dates, goji, strawberries, blueberries, mangos, banana, walnuts
2 ezekial tortillas, hummus, spinach, brocolli, corn, peas, 2 veg patties

Day 56 of 90: HSW, muscle ups, planche dips, L chins, ate great!

MBG high school! Students LOVE IT!!!!:)
hey everybody, i'm chillin at home watching the packers / bears monday night game. i'm in sort of a weird position, grew up in wisconsin, loved the vikings:), then began to love farve and the packers, now i like the vikings and packers...now moving to chicago in a few weeks and wanna support the local team:) haha. dont take any of it that seriously anyways but it's fun and now i can like all 3 teams:)
but in head to head, it's vikings, then packers, then bears.
Morning - worked til one...man it was crazy how news on delays in buildout and other stuff can stress you out. then tonight i was watching this show "the boys of fall" it was all about the trials, challenges, the joys and pains of being involved on a football team. Farve, Parsells, mack brown, and lots of other great players and coaches were all telling how and why they love football. it reminded me alot of why i loved football too, but more recently why i love training and doing what i do...it's the team, it's the friendships, it's the as one coach said...the huddle...it' grows the more years your in the game. lucky for me in my present sport...MBG training, i've been fortunate to have a great team as well as meet alot of really really cool people from all my 31 years of training from athletes (NBA, MLB, NFL, College, High School) to hollywood stars, to other trainers, strength coaches and lots more. The show was really inspiring for me as being i've always been sort of on my own island here in the way we MBG 3. had many ups and downs, many many rough times of losing tons of money, not sure if we'll make it thru the next month. Been sleepless for nights and people say take sleeping pills...NO. been fatiqued from not knowing how to eat plant based right early on and everyone said...eat meat and animal products...NO. people said stretch to decrease knee and back pain along time ago....NO again.  This show made me think of all the struggles i've gone thru...i've always said, i'm gonna make it, i'm gonna change the fitness world and something coach curry mentioned that really hit home. to truly have success is uncommon, that is why it is so hard and most of the time difficult and un-pleasant...they said something like that...i basically ruined what they said:) haha but you get the gist of it. All the people saying you cant do it, your not smart enough, your too small, all can kiss my ass!! cause i'm doing it!!
hahaha!
MBG 1 Eischens Yoga restoration: did the beginner sequence
MBG 2 Training Warriors:
Handstand walking on grass today: 5 sets of about 25 yards each...much harder on grass:)
super slow negative muscle ups: 5 sets of 5
alternated til done,
Planche Dips: 3 sets of 10 reps, then immediately went to 10 Jungle Gym XT tricep rollouts
L chin ups: 3 sets of 6 to chest, then immediately went to 14 body rows to chest
after a stressful day this workout was a bit challenging to get going and keep going so i just kept saying just do one set....and it worked:)
MBG 3 Lean & Green:
  1. grapes, strawberries, blueberries, dates, goji, walnuts, SOLife, banana
  2. organic food bar (raw) - protein one
  3. grapes, strawberries, blueberries, dates, goji, walnuts, banana
  4. banana
  5. ezekial sprouted tortillas(2) hummus, spinach, corn, peas, brocolli, veggie patties (all veggies)
  6. green juice (organic apples, kale, parsley) and SOLife and flax meal
good day of eating and finished strong...saw a buddy of mine nathane jackson doing this late night
snack and it looked good and had to give it a go....good call my friend!!!:)
MY QUESTION FOR YOU ALL: above i wrote on something that really motivated me...it's all around us, my mom at 80 years old still inspires me with her enthusiam for life and her family, my dad at 79 still shows me passion for his Lifeline USA business. Something a coach said like you're too small....OR you CAN do it!  These are some examples. What is something you've heard in the negative that changed your life and what is an example of something in the positive that changed your life.
look forward to reading your answers my friends:)
peace,
jon

Day 52 of 90: another shoot:) crazy workout:) strong foods & EY

Dinner!! Big Bowl:) Strong Food!!:)
Question: Now that you have replied if you are hungry or not....now my question is are you listening to your gut or not? This is something i feel most people dont do alot of...most follow the flock, dont question authority...but you cannot lie to yourself...you know something is wrong....this is what i feel is the matrix of the world, fitness world, food world, everything. SO, do you listen and follow your gut? As Ester and Jerry Hicks have said...swim downstream...not upstream...follow your gut and you'll be happy and healthy:) I like that, makes sense:)
Today was another great work day, got alot of great things done, filmed alot of good footage we needed and finalized our color schemes and brand boards which are now DOPE ON A ROPE!!!
It's right on the money and on time my friends! you'll see it pretty soon now and i'm a very happy man
now that we got all that done and alot of filming done too...now we're gonna put alot of focus on MBG Chicago and our new website:) aaaahhhh:)
MBG 1 restoration: basically just had fun today, my training during the video was fun, got a serious sweat, but not overwhelming....took a capoeira class tonight which was fun too:) quick Eischens Yoga sequence and i'm good!!:)
MBG 2 training: this was a odd day of training but fun, i needed a light day of training so this was right on time...did a few sets of cleans and presses with the 32k's, did alot of handstand walks for about 30 yards, did a 25 yard pole climb, snatched the 48k for about 4 reps each side, did the power wheel for alot of various exercises and alot of various chin ups...overall it was cool, not too hard and a serious sweat!!
MBG 3 eating:
  1. grapes, straw, blueberries, mangos, dates, goji, cacao, flax meal, bee pollen, almonds, SOlife
  2. organic food bar
  3. mixed greens, corn, onions, yams, wild rice, tofu, sesame seeds, beets
  4. 2 bananas and some organic peanut butter
  5. spinach, wild rice, onions, corn, carrots, beets, tomato, cucumber, bell peppers
  6. 2 sweet potatoes, 1 whole stalk of romaine lettuce, hummus
good day my friends:)
feeling good, going to sleep:)
peace:)

Day 51 of 90: PW record!!, Strong workout, strong food, strong EY!!

video Tonights Huge Salad:)

Question for you: How many times a day are you hungry? Hungry for food? Hungry for training?
Or do you eat at set times despite not being hungry, do you train when your dont want to? Think about this, are you hungry?:)

Today was another strong day:) Had alot of great work this morning, man things are getting so friggin' awesome at work and i'm sooo excited about it!! Got alot of great things happening:)
Felt alot better today, closing in on feeling back to 100%:) It's crazy how everything is building, the Monkey Bar Gym, the seminars, the courses, lifeline and our new products that my dad and i have invented....it's truly awesome:) we've been working really hard for along time....and it's time!!:)
MBG 1 restoration - did Eischens Yoga beginner sequence with my NBA player i train Wesley Matthews...he's a stud and is so young and works super hard, a bright future for sure!! After my workout later on i did 5 x thru for my recovery hot / cold shower...which felt really good.
MBG 2 training - really felt pretty good but honestly a bit nervous before doing my Power Wheel + 52 pound vest crawl. Wasnt sure, hadnt done it alot lately so i felt if i get 30 yards and feel bad i'm gonna do sets of 30 yards...if i feel good at 30 yards i am going for as far as i can...and that is exactly what happened! I crawled 65 yards!!!! My new PR!! and felt like i could of gone another 5 but it would of looked and felt like a walrus walk:) as my hips were dropping alot and it would of been a bad 5 yards:) haha....so i rested a minute...or two:) and then did the next 35 yards for my first time doing the 100 total yards in only two sets!! I'm on my way folks, i got this i know it!!! And with the 52lb vest for a total weight of 215 + 52 = 267 pounds!!! Pretty positive this will be the heaviest Power Wheel 100 yards in the world!! It's done my friends!!!:)
After this i alternated cliffhanger bar crawls for 5 sets of 20 yards for a 100 yard total
with Jungle Gym XT full tricep rollouts for 5 sets of 10 reps to behind my head. Really like this exercise as it's helping strengthen my elbows alot and hits the core alot again just like a normal rollout but without all the lat work....so today was for sure a tough core workout:)
MBG 3 eating -
  1. grapes, straw and blueberries, dates, goji, bee pollen, cacao, bananas, mango
  2. spinach, carrots, corn, beets, tofu, garbanzo beans, kamut, sesame seeds
  3. bananas and organic peanut butter
  4. spinach, corn, peas, broccoli, carrot, yams, onions, beets, wild rice, tomato, bell peppers
  5. popcorn, flax oil, sea salt
Good Day:) Good work, play, eatin':)
peace,
jon

Hey my friends, i really hope you enjoy my blog and feel like it helps you on your own path to a healthy and happy life. Please feel free to ask me questions on any health points you like. I want to help as many people as possible become truly healthy.
QUESTION: How are you all doing on your paths? Are you staying true to your way of life...an honorable strong life? Are you training for fun and performance or ego and appearance? Are you eating for health and vitality or for ego again and appearance? Think about these things...think about what you, we are all doing to make change ONE for ourselves and then TWO for others? What are we doing to make a positive change in our people and planet? Tell me what you are doing for you and others...:)

TODAY: Worked from 9-12 on our upcoming new mbg website...looking good my friends:) haha
12-1:30 did a shoot for the new Jungle Gym XT....coming out soon...either way it was almost 2 hours of doing some very cool poster shots:) Either way...upper body is now totally fried:) haha
Then met my dad and peter estabrooks (a well known canadian trainer and writer) and jessica for lunch. Pete is really a cool guy who loves our lifeline usa equipment and writes on it regularily. He came by my MBG after we had lunch and i showed him around...he loved it and didnt want to leave:) He just said Jon go ahead and go home, i'm hanging out and playing for awhile:) haha Aint that cool:) Love it:)
MBG 1 Eischens Yoga: did alot of back domes and handstands and full overhead squats using our train station for about 3 cycles thru of each. Then did a 4 cycle hot/cold shower.
MBG 2 training: Back to jumping again and my knee went well!!
Vertical jumps off 2 feet to the rim: No power jumper for resistance: 6 jumps to 10', 6 jumps to 10'2" and then finished with 4 jumps to 10'2.5". Stopped here as i began to feel my knee...smart man:)
Broad Jumps with R8 Power Jumper x 2/1/0: 6 jumps for 45' / 5 jumps for 42' / 5 jumps for 45'

Day 49 of 90: HSW, muscle ups, HSPUs, super strong foods!

video
Hey everybody, man it feels good to be back home:) It is so crazy to travel alot and keep working out:) But i love it:) The Monkey Bar Gym is growing and helping people all over the world!! That's priceless!!
MBG 1 restoration: Eischens Yoga beginner sequence, hot x 60, cold x 30 x 5 times shower
MBG 2 training: back at it again and man it felt really good:)
  1. Handstand walking: 30, 30, 30, 30 yards = 120 yards. Although is a bit behind i feel it's pretty good for how i'm just getting back into it again...still dealing with the lung burn a bit so feel about 75%. So this aint bad:)
  2. Jungle Gym assisted Muscle Ups: 10, 10, 10, 10  = 40. This is a really really cool exercise i just started doing and i feel it will prepare me for doing NO MOMENTUM muscle ups. it's basically a 90 degree Jungle Gym XT body row plus pulling yourself over the top of each rep....so pull to ribs with hands close to body, then pull yourself over the top as you look down doing so, then instead of doing the dip portion, just do this portion for the reps....works great!!! Every set this one gets so tough at around 8 reps, so i had to pause a bit in order to hit 10 each set.
rested a few minutes and talked to some new MBG members:) They're doing awesome on the 60 DFC!
  1. Handstand push ups with BXT 70lb assistance: 8 reps + 30 sec. hold x 4 sets.
  2. Jungle Gym assisted Muscle Ups: 10, 10, 10, 10  = 40. Liked this one so much i did it again:) haha...you all have to try this especially if you want to do muscle ups as they are suppose to be done...WITH NO MOMENTUM!!:) Every set this one gets so tough at around 5 reps, so i had to pause a bit in order to hit 10 each set.
MBG 3 plant based power foods:
  1. Blueberries, mangos, strawberries, grapes, walnuts, SOLife, goji berries, cacao nibs, bee pollen
  2. organic food bar - protein bar (if you've never had one of these they are probably the best and healthiest raw bar out....very strong food:)
  3. Spinach smoothie, mango, goji, cacao, SOlife, almonds
  4. Huge mixed greens and spinach salad with tomatoes, onions, 2 veggie patties, corn, broccoli, peas

Good day, had alot of MBG meetings all day...man we got so much stuff we're working on it's crazy:) Overall really happy to be back and getting back at my training too....just gonna keep the workouts real simple and try to slowly progress.
For my 3 Big Goals: as it looks right now with 41 days to go the dunking (which i'm training tomorrow) is gonna be tough, my set back 2 weeks ago really hurt as i was progressing really well and this put me back to about day 10 or so. The 100 yard Handstand walk is gonna be the toughest i feel, felt this since day one...as improving that much in such a short time is really challenging, just want to keep to my schedule as best as i can and if i can get near 70+ yards in the next 3 weeks then i think i still have a shot at that one....but honestly that is the hardest one i feel. The Power Wheel 100 yard crawl + 40lb vest is gonna be done i know it...right now i'm getting back at that too, like my HSW's so this last month of lung burn and traveling has really taken it's toll on my performance, and i still believe i can get this one....right now at about 60 yards...i'll be near 80 yards by day 71 (3 weeks from now) and that is with a 52lb vest for all my workouts...so that is the one i feel most confident about. I'm gonna get it!!:)
peace my friends,
jon

Day 48 of 90: Just got back from LA two great seminars!!

video
Hey y'all hope you're good!! just got back from LA...did a Rebuilding Warriors and a Run Faster,
Jump Higher seminars and they went awesome....great full groups for each, everybody was super into
the info and we had a great time at each one. The guys at MBG Moorpark were as always great!! Dave, Kevin, Justin and of course spudboy Dixon were all there to support and were gracious hosts and provided alot of comic relief:) haha especially Dixon:) hahaha
So after leaving madison on friday morning at 4am we arrived at MBG Moorpark at 1pm and began the first Eischens Yoga Seminar at 5:45pm til 8:45pm...could of kept going as it was amazing!
We began with the EY beginner sequence, then showed all the difference maker of Eischens Yoga from all other forms of fixing the body...the hands on feedback which we did with wide leg forward flexion, front warrior, kneeling table, supine bridge and supine mountain. It was POWERFUL to say the least! Seeing people in pain, stand out of a pose after getting feedback and smile because their pain is gone! Or they have much freer movement in squats, back domes and all movements.
Then the next day we did a run faster, jump higher seminar; this one had again a full group that was just awesome again! We did a great runners warm up that fed into tons of proper reps for progressing running technique from beginner to advanced all the while supporting proper running form. Then we moved into jump training and did a similar approach of teaching a basic squat, fixing it with some Eischens Yoga feedback and then progressing that squat to high levels of jumping and ending with showing how to progress both running and jumping with the aid of the power jumper and c-band to resist both movements to their highest levels.
The weekend was filled with lots of great movement & skill training and lots of laughs too...we had a great time:)
We ate alot at the whole foods salad bar too which is always great!! Lots of steamed kale, carrots, onions, edemame, broccoli, some raw nuts and seeds and then lots of water and mate' teas:)
MBG 1 restoration - that was easy with daily doses of Eischens Yoga:)
MBG 2 training - here beyond teaching and showing all the movements and exercises i pretty much did not train over the weekend and look forward to getting back at it un-interrupted for the next two weeks!!
MBG 3 plant based eatin - whole foods, herbal teas, water, repeat:) it was great!!
It was really a pleasure to see some old friends again too, miss seeing them more and hope i can again in the near future!
peace my friends:)

Another strong day, man i am feeling better each day and loving it, still feel the lung burn a bit but less and less each day. Today i worked alot on MBG Chicago and got some more good news that i think will help alot of you guys as well. We made a portable chin up thing we called a Monkey Tree, which is 2 chin up stations on a very strong support system....SO i decided to make a stationary bad ass version for Monkey Bar Gymnasium Chicago! I want to make a system that is a wicked stationary system that you can do all types of chin, etc on as well as connect lots of various things to it as well like our cables and more. Gonna make it so it can be big (maybe across 30-40 feet, but also a portable version like we already have. The stationary Monkey Tree will set into the wall and floor but will have tons of variation as well. So i'm planning on that for MBG Chicago and when we do it and make it available i'll make sure to show you all how bad ass it is:) haha
Today also talked with some of our new MBG 60 day fitness challengers and got to say what an awesome group, very cool and inspired people who love the positive vibe we have at the MBG. They all are very excited to be part of it and are working really hard...THIS IS PRICELESS TO ME:) I love seeing people who felt un-comfortable in other gyms only to turn their life completely around and get strong mentally and physically at the MBG...got to love that man!
MBG 1 restoration - did the Eischens Yoga beginner sequence in steffons class today, he did a great job teaching it today...big props stef! Then did some more back dome work later in the afternoon as well. Putting in extra work daily to improve shoulder ROM and hip ROM as well as ass to grass squat.
  • People with tight hips have tightness starting from ankles (no depth of squats) to hips (since they cannot squat deep they must bend from the hips completely (thus bigger butts:) to shoulders (all the other tightnesses give tight shoulders and dont allow you to go over head well unless you compensate alot or not at all...i was the not at all group...no ROM in ankles, hips, shoulders) as well and i'm no excuse:) haha, it is what caused all my problems...probably from years of biking 40-50 miles a day as a teen:)...i've always loved biking just for fun:) also playing bball and heavy squats in college and nothing to open up my hips at all:) dang:) In either case it can all be un-done!! The amount of movement improvement i see in others and myself daily from Eischens Yoga is truly amazing:) Love it!
MBG 2 training - did todays MBG workout sort of to mix into my training a bit:)
  • Power Wheel 52lb vest atomic push ups: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10 = 60
  • Kips with 52lb vest: 10, 10, 10, 10, 10, 10 = 60
alternated sets, rested about 2-3 minutes between each set
Jungle Gym XT (x-treme trainer, the new one:) haha it'll be out in October:) haha you can get your now at lifelineusa.com as it is not up on our site today but will be by weeks end:) haha IT JUST CAME OUT:)
  • JGXT muscle ups to dip position...measured handle to hips and 90 degree rowing position, then did assisted muscle ups...man this really got hard and was really awesome!!! 10, 10 , 10 = 30
  • JGXT full rollouts with tricep extension: no not doing isolated exercise here:) haha it's alot like the normal full rollout with a Jungle Gym or Power Wheel...kept it measured at same hip height, stepped back a bit, then grabbed it and laid out completely and did a hands behind head to full extension as well for reps...another great one and great combo exercises: 10, 10, 10 = 30
alternated sets, rested about 2-3 minutes between each set...really loved these two JGXT exercises too and ended the workout feeling very strong and healthy:) Happy about how i felt big time:)

MBG 3 plant based eating: Another great day of eatin:) Happy to be eating all my meals at home or at my co-op!
  1. Soaked oats, goji, cacao, walnuts, SOlife, flax meal, bananas
  2. apple
  3. fruit bowl: bananas, straw-b's, grapes, dates, goji, cacao, almonds, SOLife, flax meal
  4. banana and organic peanut butter
  5. mixed greens, tomato, corn, peas, 2 veggie burgers (natures bakery thats local and 100% vegs!!) then had a 2 sweet potatoes and some hummus!!
Feeling stronger each day back home here and that is great!
Much appreciation to you all who told me which book version you like best as well!!
peace, love, health & happiness my friends:)

Day 43 of 90: My BOOK!! Jumping again!! Back dome crawls!! Great eats!!

video  Monkey Bar Gym Chicago!!:)
Another good day, worked on my book...YES:) i've been working on a book...for about 6 years:) haha:) but it's looking pretty good nowadays and i'm thinking i'm gonna finish it by new years!! Also jumped again today after 2 weeks off from a slight tweak while in arizona and the Eischens Yoga is getting back on track quickly...this time PATIENCE:) No jumping vertical til i'm ready:) Then did some fun training today too...that was a blast! Feeling better each day that i'm back home and the lung burn is getting less each day. Also worked alot on MBG Chicago and discussed our Monkey Bar Gym 60 Day Fitness Challenge. On our MBG Chicago we're designing the most wicked bar system we can and that is gonna be off the hook!! Also gonna have our stahl bars, traveling rings, BXT's, and all other fun stuff we have in MBG Madison:) Man we're so excited about it, it's gonna be a great local for us along with our courses & seminars.
MBG 1 restoration - Eischens Yoga lots of back domes:) and beginner sequence
It is crazy how when i met Roger Eischens back in july 1997 i was totally jacked up:) Super tight ankles, hips, shoulders. My ankles were so tight i could not squat past 90 degrees without lifting my heels. My hips were so tight i had massive lordosis and low back pain so much could not stand for more than 5 minutes without severe back pain. My shoulders were so tight that when i first tried back dome i could only hit the backs of my hands on the ground over my head, Roger had to work with me for 20 minutes just so i could get near having my palms face the floor...not touch the floor...i'm saying just facing the floor:) on my fingertips....it was horrible. But i did not know, did not know that was super un-healthy in all areas...i just thought i had a knee injury that led to back pain. Then as i began un-doing all the tightness in my body i began to understand WOW i'm jacked up:) haha
So doing what i did today was really cool and really made me think back about when first starting Eischens Yoga....TODAY i did back dome floor walks across the MBG floor 15 yards in 2 sets! This was not even a possibility when i began EY, and that and doing wall back dome wall walk ups today was also amazing.
  • Back dome wall walk ups are simple; kick up into a handstand with back to wall, then walk away from the wall as about 3-4 feet, then walk feet down the wall til you can touch the floor and then back up again to starting position...up/down for 5 reps. If you want to open up the shoulders and hips, along with the Daily Eischens Yoga work, this will do you GREAT!!! Felt awesome in both today after doing this drill for about 4-5 sets. Then did the back dome floor walk.
MBG 2 training - Did all my fun back dome stuff which i loved...if you havent done these two try them, you'll like them:) Then after warming up i felt good enough in my left knee to begin jump training again!! Wasnt sure i was gonna be able to get back in this saddle and go for it again after tweaking it again in arizona, but with the Eischens Yoga daily it's been feeling alot better:)
  • Broad Jumps x R8 Green x 2/1/0: 6 for 45' / 5 for 41' / 5 for 44'
not so bad for my first day back, knee started to hurt a bit on last set, so took it easy after that.
  • Full squats (hands behind head) to 6" box: 3 sets of 10 with big focus on feet alignment
  • Power Wheel leg curls on hands only...hard:) 3 sets of 10 with focus on feet again...good one:)
then did some static holds for fun alternating;
  • box planche holds (feet above hips) for 3 sets of 45 seconds each set
  • chin up holds hands to chest for 3 sets of 40 seconds each set...dang that was hard:) haha
some people can rest in this position...not me, this was honestly hard, big props for the old Physical Fitness Test and the chin up holds:) haha
MBG 3 eating Plant Based!!
  1. My big fruit bowl: grapes, dates, bananas, strawb's, goji, cacao, bee pollen, SOLife, walnuts
  2. Mixed greens, tomato, zuchini, carrots, corn, peas, 2 veggie patties, beets, flax oil, sliced almonds
  3. Sweet potatoes
  4. Banana with natural chocolate peanut butter called yummy peanut butter...dang! good! off the hook!!
  5. Greens, tomato, zuchini, corn, peas, pinto beans, sunflower seeds...then some hummus and raw flax chips:)
Good Day:)
MY QUESTION FOR YOU: Do you think my book should be about how i founded the MBG and my training philosophy and program? Or The Monkey Bar Gym 30 days to change your life and the save our planet!!
Tell me which you like more of if you have another title:) your feedback is much appreciated my friends:)
peace:)

Day 42 of 90: worked out!! ate great again!

Me and my cat Boobie:) Chillin!!
Whew! felt good to be home for a few days and catch up on some rest:)
Flying to LA this week to do two seminars at MBG Moorpark on friday and saturday too.
well at least i got a few days of rest and recovery:) haha
MBG 1 restoration: hot cold shower x 5 after my workout which felt good!
MBG 2 training: easy bodyweight workout outside...beautiful here:) about 73 degrees and sunny.
did some swing dips, alligator push ups, HSW alternated with some variations on chin ups, pole climbs, kips...did this for about 45 minutes and got a great workout which wasnt too hard and felt really good afterwards:) just what i needed!!
Something cool happened today...i'm walking to my MBG and on the way i walk by a local park and see some ripped kid doing inch worms across and up a hill...then he turns and goes down the hill doing alligator push ups...then does some reaction drills with a odd shaped ball...then jumps up and grabs the edge of the roof of the beach storage building...does a lateral climb, then at the peak does 5 chins, then goes down the other side and he's done with that set! so i go talk to him, he's a cool kid, says your jon hinds right:) haha, he goes i know all about your monkey bar gym...it's awesome:) haha
i had to give the kid props, he's in great shape and doing our MBG workouts outside as well which is the bomb!!! what made me even happier was that he was barefoot and ran 1 mile to this place, then did the workout, then ran back home...now if that isnt enough...he's plant based too!!!! haha
Made my day!
MBG 3 eating:
  1. my big fruit bowl - grapes, bananas, strawberries, dates, goji berries, bee pollen, cacao nibs, SOLife
  2. Big salad - steamed kale, beets, corn, cabbage, brown rice, lentils, some potato slices
  3. Big salad - mixed greens, beets, corn, peas, 2 tofu burgers (100% all vegs), 1 zuchini and some hummus...then 1 sweet potato as a finisher:)
Over all feeling better again today, still dealing with some lung burn but it's getting better each day i've been home doing the R&R...gonna keep it up:)
peace my friends,
jon

Day 41 of 90: Good day!! Eischens Yoga Warrior, strong eating!!!

Eischens Yoga Warrior sequence head stand!!
Today was a good day, after returning from chicago i've been resting as i said i would and i'm feeling better each day....good enough to do the Eischens Yoga Warrior sequence today:)
Something i really loved hearing is how people all over the world are changing to a plant based diet because of health for themselves as well as the planet. It is up to us to show others how to do this, it is up to us to lead by example, to help and strengthen each other and others as society oddly still resists what is best for our people and planets health....but my friends we are the change we want to see in the world! We are standing when it is hard to stand, we are facing the fear of big industry, big money, 99% of the fitness world all saying you must eat what they eat....man forget that!!
A hero is someone who faces their fears and moves forward despite their fears to do the right thing.
Well my friends, we are all heroes, despite the world and the fitness world trying to knock us down over and over, we keep standing....and now we are many, we are standing stronger than ever.
Keep walking the good walk my friends!!!
MBG 1 restoration: Eischens Yoga Warrior sequence x 24 minutes holding each pose for 1 minute...this felt good and started the day off well:) Then easily road my bike around town, read alot and basically just rode and read all day long...."Chillin' like a Gorilla" :)
MBG 2 training: for fun walked on my hands a few yards but beyond that and riding today i chilled:) Gonna do a bit tomorrow though, still easy though:)
MBG 3 eating:"Eating like a Gorilla" fruits, veggies, raw nuts and seeds:)
  1. banana and some dates
  2. spinach, onions, bell peppers, carrots, black beans on top of half a potato
  3. raw nuts, seeds, honey, flax, goji berries bar and half, coconut water
  4. apples and some raw cashew butter
  5. kale, garlic, peas, quinoa pasta and half a squash, walnuts, agave
  6. cocoa, water, stevia
overall a good day of R and R :)
really dig hearing your replies, questions and thoughts my friends so keep em coming:)
peace:)

Day... i dont know:) haha i'm chillin!!:)

My boys at "My Mad Methods" wrote this!! Solid!!
just got back from chicago today after working on MBG Chicago for the last two days. We have alot of work to do to open by nov 15th but the ball has started rolling at least so that is good:) running a business is so crazy, expanding it is really crazy:) got to pay attention to MBG Madison, our website, our licensees and then also work to set up our new location to be amazing as well...it's exciting...then we also spent non working time to look for apartments to rent while in chicago...really love chicago and looking forward to getting it up and running strong:)
MBG 1 restoration: Over the last two days we've been working alot and looking alot and that hasnt left much time for recovery and sleeping but i found some me time today and just did some Eischens Yoga poses....my favorites like back dome, front warrior, table and a few others for about 30 seconds each.
MBG 2 training: Taking it easy the last few, doing my Eischens Yoga mostly but also began doing more mixture of my brazilian jiu-jitsu training movements which i love too...holding handstands, back dome walking across the floor...now that is challenging and very fun too...but i did it:) haha today after we drove back from chi town i wanted to get out and have a bit of fun so did some easy sets of dips and 90 degree chin ups using the jungle gym outside which was really cool, got some blood flowing and did not overdo it for me...started to chill when i noticed i was starting to cough:) lung burn still... dang that is annoying:) haha well we live and learn....and right now i'm in learning mode...how do i train and maintain or even gain while not putting myself in strain:) get it i'm a poet and dont even know it:) hahaha
TRAINING QUESTION: How do you all stack up on the above doc? I think it is a solid level and if you hit all of them you're gonna be in good shape my friends:) Good job marcus and mark my friends who just started the new un-conventional training magazine "My Mad Methods", check it out, i have an article coming out in a month or two:)
MBG 3 eating: over the last few days we ate most of the time at whole foods and some vegan joints as well. WF's is really an awesome place to eat, fresh salads, kale, beets, corn, edemame, cabbage, sesame & pumpkin seeds, walnuts daily and then healthy soups like 3 bean chili are just amazing. then you have all the treats you can get for the road, healthy fruits always, and drinks like mate and green teas and then of course all the variety of spring waters:) man i'm happy that place is around and growing...30 years now! WF's is awesome for eating clean but i really like how they support eating plant based with lots of classes and books on how to do it to be most healthy....cheers to you whole foods for doing such a great job. Lots of folks complain about how much they cost but heck, it's good food, i'd rather eat healthy and pay a bit more then eat at a restaurant and pay the same or more and not have healthy food huh:) make a healthy choice, your' worth it.
MY INTERESTING NOTE OVER THE LAST FEW DAYS:
Just finished reading John Josephs book "Meat is for pussies".... John is a very righteous dude who pulls no punches and i love what he has to say...amen my brother!!!! AMEN!! John is an amazing musician (Cromags) and has been vegan for 30 years and is an amazing picture of health...if your contemplating making that change and want a serious kick in the arse to make a full change to eating plant based 100% his book will help you out big time!! He's hard core, right on point and doesnt care if he hurts your feelings...cause he purely wants to help make you and this planet a better place and the time for talking is over!! So dont be a pussy and get his book and read it and understand it as it is powerful: http://www.meatisforpussies.org/

Now go out and do something great!! Help someone who doesnt ask but needs your help!
peace!

Day 37 of 90: BIG DECISION MADE R&R, working, eating strong

video
Today was my first day back home...a few weeks back i talked about resting and recovering.
that lasted about 2 days:) then back at it, then i went to coach sommers gymnastics seminars 3 days
in a row in arizona...friggin really tired and it showed. now i'm back and working on MBG Chicago,
and my MBG Madison, my book, lifeline USA...man it hurts to realize i got to rest and recover.
So i am not planning on it but i am NOT training til leaving for LA on the 13th and maybe longer than
that...have decided i cant improve if i keep working all the time and crushing myself and not resting better:) OKAY i'm a bit of a rock head:) but i'm going to do it at least til i leave for LA on monday:)
It's a start!!!
So it's gonna be looking pretty much like:
MBG 1 restoration: Simple movement training but nothing hard, working on improving my squat depth, my back domes, walking backdomes and variations, hold handstands and elbow stands to open up the shoulders more and also do some variations of rolling and simple BJJ type movement drills,  Eischens Yoga, lots of water and sleeping whenever i want:) haha
MBG 2 training: same as the above, in fact it is gonna be the above:) nothing hard:)
MBG 3 eating: STRONG PLANT BASED FOODS - fruits, veggies, raw nuts & seeds and some strong plants like sweet potatoes:)
  • spinach, peach, walnuts, SOlife smoothie for brkfast
  • greens, corn, carrots, cabbage, edemame, sesame seeds, tofu, sweet potatoes
  • cavendish bananas and cashews
  • cucumbers, okra, onions, tomatoes, veggie patties
  • apple and raw cashew butter
this was a very good day of eating and i'm very happy to be back home to my way of eating...
well til i go to chicago tomorrow to oversee MBG Chicago being built out and getting a apartment
near the new place and also plan out our marketing and business.

Day 35 of 90: lots of HSW's, various levers, EY backdomes like crazy:)

video My boy Zach Even Esh giving some props for our MBG "Rebuilding Warriors Seminar" we did out in his hometown Avon by the Sea NJ:)
Day 35 of 90 was another very long and challenging day. we did a ton of walking on our hands which i love:) great practice for me for my 100 yard HSW....learned some cool variations to what i already do which will help me a bit i hope. then did some lever work from poles and on the floor...that was fun too:)
did some variations on the rope climbs too which were very cool:)
MBG 1: restoration - did alot of supine bridge, back domes and all the prone series as well. had a good time doing the back domes and actually did some cool variations on it as well...feet on the wall back dome, walking back domes and then over unders from back dome to down dog position across the floor. this was a tough one but i got it some and will work on it more...really happy i got the back dome walks and some of the other back domes off the stahl bars and feet on wall too....it's funny, a few years after i met roger i began trying to do back domes...when i first tried my shoulders were so tight i could not even get my palms near the floor hit the backs of my hands but now i'm walking across the floor in back dome:) haha, it's crazy how much more mobility i have in my shoulders and hips now since beginning Eischens yoga:)...simple amounts too just like we do is the key...a bit each day. especially if you want to nail handstand walks then make that part of your Eischens Yoga daily sequence...throw it in right after you do the wide leg forward flexion part...hold it against the wall focusing on technique daily and in no time you wont need the wall anymore:)
MBG 2: training - the 8 hours of training today was alot but it was cool and i love doing bodyweight calisthenics anyways:) did Handstand walks forward, backwards, sideways, did fast hand walks with feet on the wall and a bunch of various crabwalks and other types of push ups...then also did tons of variations on levers from the floor, to on boxes to on bars...that was alot of fun as well...also did some jumps, just a little bit here, so that satisfied me a little bit as i havent jumped much in the last 5 days. feeling the core and arms a bit right now:) but what do you expect after 2 eight hour days:) haha
MBG 3: eating -
breakfast of cacao nibs, goji, raw cashews and some other organic healthy stuff:) it was really good and got it as a super healthy trail mix today at whole foods here.
lunch - whole foods again, mixed greens, cabbage, lentils, brocolli, pecans and sweet potatoes:) this was super good:)
dinner - went mexican food tonight: chips and salsa, then got some vegan enchilatas which were pretty good, then for a later dinner snack got some more goodies from WF's of which i got to give massive props too; laughing giraffe organics...without a doubt this has to be probably the tastiest granola i've ever had...it's their cranberry, orange, cacao one and it's gluten free and THE BOMB:) HAHA
For the day, i've got to say how fortunate i am to see some of the best in the country in gymnastics teach and perform, their level is off the charts:) one part of the regime gymnasts do is contrary to how i train...the stretching gymnasts do is something i am not crazy about, makes my joints hurt, i know it is part of the gymnastics culture for a long time and to achieve their flexibilty it has worked...gymnasts need it for their sport, i understand this, ballet and other dance sports need excessive joint range as well, (fact: the sport that has the most off season surgeries is gymnastics, study done on all sports in the big ten conference...this is due to larger than normal ranges of motion, which they need for their sport and the dynamic nature of their sport...lose joints and extreme forces = problems at some point) just for non gymnasts/ballet, etc i do not see the point in static stretching as no other species on the planet static stretches...all except humans active stretch. i believe a person can actively attain a much healthier full range and more thru Eischens Yoga and natural active full body movements like done in BJJ class and capoeira classes all over the world...they are active and fully functional and all involve balance and tons of muscle activation to help stabilize the body. The natural active stretching does not make the body fight the stretch like static and i feel does not force it into defending the movements.
Overall training as gymnasts over the last few days...enjoying alot:) as its very fun and their high level feedback is very good...so, a good day again and i'm looking forward to a few days off:) haha
peace,
jon

Day 34 of 90: in arizona, gymnastics all day long, ate strong plants

44k's back dome:)
Hey y'all, down in scotsdale at my friend coach sommers gymnastics school. he asked me to help him transition to a plant based diet and invited me to take his gymnastics course for my help:) very cool huh:) well he is a really great guy and an excellent teacher. it was really interesting how they prepare and do prehab work...some active stretching, mostly static stretching...felt very odd for me for sure:)...did some eischens yoga and then was talking to some of his instructors about some of their mis-alignments and pains they have...so jess and i fixed them and man they liked it alot:) one said he's had mid back pain for 8 years and nothing else helped and now in 30 seconds it felt amazing:) haha aint that cool:) got to love it:)
jess and i ate great today:
herbal tea, then some bananas, some raw bars that were amazing
lots of water - then had some yucan plant and some mixed raw nuts
hit whole foods - huge mixed greens, kale, carrots, lentils, brocolli, potato
lots more water - organic food bar
dinner - kale, peppers, sprouts, tofu with a mixed greens, carrots, cabbage, brocolli salad
snack - coconut frozen bar, apple, yacon
MBG 1 restoration - did my Eischens yoga still:) lots of back domes
MBG 2 training - did alot of handstand and chinning stuff:)
MBG 3 eating - above, good stuff for sure:)
overall a long day but it was fun and coach sommers is really a kind person:)
peace my friends,

Day 32 of 90: catch up day and eatin like a champ!

about 5 years ago,...held about 5 sec:)
Today was a catch up day and was on top of my eatin today for sure. Had meetings about MBG Chicago; looking at specs, every aspect of it:) got alot:) haha but it's very exciting:)
MBG 1: Did my beginner Eischens Yoga sequence it is very interesting while doing my EY routine every day as to what makes me feel really good and how amazing i feel after doing it. Today all poses on my arms like kneeling table, down dog, incline, cobra, sphinx, up dog all really made it possible to really open up on the last pose of the sequence...back dome....when you really focus on these poses they help to set your shoulders dramatically and this really helps to open up on back dome because your shoulders are more well aligned and thus allow you to move freer than previously. Felt amazing:)
MBG 2: made up for only doing power wheel yesterday...did speed handstand walks of 30 yards as fast as possible: 32 seconds, 32, 32. This actually felt pretty good, my speed was very good, at this pace i'm doing 100 yards in about 1:45 which is great!! I am doing this on a 15 yard floor as well so this time includes turning around...so this is very good:) Alternated that with 5 muscle ups, 10 kips to sternum x 2 sets. Then did 2 sets of 25 full power wheel rollouts from feet with 2 bands of BXT assisting...loved this exercise! Although this workout was not very hard i was a bit fatiqued from all the work lately and still not feeling 100%...about 75% still and want to chill a bit as i travel to arizona tomorrow.
MBG 3: Started the day with all soaked overnight: oats, goji berries, cacao nibs, walnuts, SOlife
after training then ate some spinach, bell peppers, carrots, corn, cabbage, tofu. then ran back to the gym then had a nice dinner of tomato, bell peppers and cucumber salad i made...good:) then had some steamed spinach, brocolli, corn, brazil nuts, carrots, onions for my entree! It was great!
Then for dessert i had 2 sweet potatoes which i had cooked to perfection. For those of you that do not know how to make one of the tastiest foods on the planet....clean em, put em in oven, stab em with a fork a few times, bake at 425 for 65 minutes, then let them sit in the oven to cool for another 30-60 minutes. Then i put them in aluminum foil in a container in the fridge....i then eat them whenever i want one and they are amazing!!:) haha Simple, Tasty, Strong!!!

Day 31 of 90: PW record! Chillin and awesome dinner!!

Great dinner!!! Super Strong plants!!
Today was another hard day of work:)...only had 15 minutes to train all day til about 7pm and i was toast, so all i got in today was my power wheel crawls today, did some more videos today...dang i'm doing so many lately its crazy, 3 dvd shoots, and a bunch of videos over the last 2 weeks:)
Had some great workouts today with all my athletes and my MBG noon class, they all did great!
Started with a 1 hour TV spot this morning, then 2 hours of filming our september workouts...yeah i know it's a bit late but better late then never:) haha, then noon class, then wesley ( who broke two of his jumping records again this week...his 1 leg approach jumps improved from hitting 11'7" up to 11'8"...this is from starting at 11'2" about 5 weeks ago. Then his lateral rebound jumps improved to 3 at 44" in a row...this is a tough exercise and he did great again:)
then i ran home and ate, then back to the gym, met with our COO greg metzler about MBG Chicago for an hour, then the bboys from 5-6:30, then talked with my new trainers til 7pm to help them out some more...then i was done:) haha
MBG 1 restoration: did the Eischens Yoga beginner sequence in our noon class warmup...man this helped me alot:)
MBG 2 training:
Only had time to do the Power Wheel crawls + 52lb vest: *PR 60 yards!!, then 20, 20 in 3:11 really happy about the 60 yards especially since i was for sure tired and had no warm up and just hit it:)
MBG 3 eating:
breakfast - grapes, blueberries, strawberries, dates, goji, cacao, SOL, almonds
lunch - spinach tortilla, hummus, greens, bell peppers, tomato,
snack - bumble bar (peanuts, honey, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds)
dinner - pictured above: kale, pinto beans, bell peppers, peanuts, onions, brocolli, carrots
snack - popcorn, flax oil, sea salt
Another busy day, will workout legs and some upper stuff tomorrow, not too hard, see how i feel as i'm flying to arizona friday to do sat, sun, mon training with my buddy coach sommers which will be a blast:)
peace y'all:)
